Global Roundtable Hosting Program Application
The Hosting Program is an opportunity to broaden the impact of the Global Roundtable by giving GSUSA Councils and international participants the chance to create more personal connections through pre-G.I.R.L. 2020 cultural sharing. Councils will serve as hosts to the international participants attending the Roundtable.
Participants will be advocates for the awareness of important global issues. Gain an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion and reflect on how they can put equity and inclusion into practice and celebrate the diversity of local communities and beyond. Participants will also have an opportunity to share their interests and global expertise with WAGGGS – Lebanon Girl Guides and host them in person at the G.I.R.L. 2020 Convention.
Girls who apply should be a Girl Scout Senior or Ambassador on October 1, 2020 and also:
• Be a registered and active member from their council
• Be comfortable working with those from different backgrounds, cultures, and language
• Be able to attend all virtual meetups and G.I.R.L. 2020 Convention.
• CANNOT be National Delegates for the 2019 – 2020 year
All Girls who apply must be able to make the following commitments.
• Make time to meet virtually three times
First Meeting between Feb 14th – 23rd - Celebrating World Thinking Day and focus on getting to know each other
• May – Share Girl Scout / Girls Guide experiences/work together on earning the Global Action Award
• September - Prepare and plan for the week of G.I.R.L. 2020 October 21st -25th
• Be able to attend G.I.R.L. 2020 October 21st -25th with parental permission and school permission
• Must be able to share this hosting program at various council events, meetings, and with their community
• Complete Application in full and submit by December 15th.
Selected girls will be chaperoned by council staff. This is a girl only experience and only Senior and Ambassador Girls Scouts may apply.
